Revanth Reddy assumes charge as TPCC chief amid fanfare
Firebrand Congress leader and Malkajgiri MP Anumula Revanth Reddy, on Wednesday assumed charge as the president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) amid much fanfare.

Firebrand Congress leader and Malkajgiri MP Anumula Revanth Reddy, on Wednesday assumed charge as the president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) amid much fanfare.
Outgoing TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy handed over the reins of Telangana Congress to the young leader at Gandhi Bhavan, the headquarters of TPCC, in the afternoon. Uttam Kumar Reddy steered the Telangana Congress for over six years.
Revanth Reddy went in a procession from his residence in Jubilee Hills. He offered prayers at Peddamma Talli temple and Nampally Dargah before reaching Gandhi Bhavan.
Along with him, newly-appointed working presidents, senior vice presidents and new chairpersons of the party's different wings also assumed charge.
Gandhi Bhavan wore a festive look after a long time as Congress workers and leaders from across Telangana descended at the venue to cheer their leader. Congress party leaders went in procession from various parts of the city to TPCC headquarters.
Several senior Congress leaders including AICC Telangana In-charge Manikam Tagore, AICC General Secretary Tariq Anwar and others attended the swearing-in ceremony.
Later speaking at a public meeting, Revanth Reddy expressed optimism that Congress would come to power in Telangana if every party worker works hard for two years. Describing Sonia Gandhi as Telangana talli, he said the Congress president was instrumental in getting Telangana State despite many hurdles. He blamed KCR and his policies for the numerous problems and challenges Telangana people are facing.
